Nick Tilsley (played by Ben Price) and David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) will take sibling rivalry to the next level in an upcoming episode of Coronation Street.
Sadly, the days of brotherly love are coming to an end as actor Nick Tilsley revealed their war is just around the corner.
Only recently was David sworn to secrecy after discovering Nick stole thousands of pounds from their grandmother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).
But the hairdresser could expose his brother’s wrong-doings when they are torn apart again later this year.
Viewers may not have to wait long for the drama to ensue, as Ben admitted the storyline is closer than expected.
When Digital Spy asked when soap watchers can expect to see scenes unfold on screen, he said: ”Not long. They’ll definitely turn on each other when the pressure gets too much.
“I think they have to, that’s the relationship between the two brothers. Normally they don’t get on, then it’s some outside force that joins them back together.”
He continued: “The advantage of them being brothers is you can get away with a lot more than with another character – you always can, it’s in their blood.
“They can be intrinsically linked but still hate each other and that is very interesting to play.”
Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod previously revealed the half-siblings would be at loggerheads this year, hating “each more than they ever have”.
Speaking to press, including Express.co.uk last year, he revealed: “Nick and David end up running a new business together on Victoria Street – a barber shop with a pun in the name.
“A secret emerges after the New Year, which proves so corrosive that they end up hating each other more than they ever have.
He added: ”We’re likening it to Cain and Abel [from Emmerdale] – one of them isn’t going to kill the other, but they’ll come pretty close in how much they come to loathe each other.
“It starts in January and plays out over the next 12 months.”
Nick was recently named an official suspect in next week’s Underworld collapse, with his name on a list of people, including Carla Connor (Alison King) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
The knicker factory breaks down when workers hold a protest on the site after discovering their jobs could be on the line because boss Carla is planning to make cut-backs.
Furious with their leader, some mechanists chain themselves to the building, but Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) and Gina Seddon (Connie Hyde) go one step further.
When the sisters climb onto the roof to hang a banner it suddenly gives way, resulting in the sisters plunging down onto the shop floor.
Carla, Nick, Gary Windass, Robert Preston and Seb Franklin are all suspects for having caused the disaster.
Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
