Coronation Street spoilers Nick Tilsley to ruin David Platt and Shona Ramsey engagement? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

David Platt (played by Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) have been through a tough time on Coronation Street.

Just earlier this week, the latter was kidnapped by her evil son, Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison) and held as ransom.

However, she managed to escape unscathed and went back to home, safe in the sound he was under police watch.

But it seems the Platt problems will only get worse from emerging super-villain, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).

On tonight’s double-bill of Coronation Street, David plucked up the courage to ask Shona to marry him once again.

He had tried before but she turned him down, fearing he wasn’t ready for it.

Tonight it was a different story, as Shona agreed to marry her lover.

But as the first episode ended and they hugged about their happy news, but there was a big clue there was about to be some upset.

Behind them, a screaming fox taxidermy sat menacingly in the frame.

The dead animal was seen later on in the second episode and the camera lingered on it for a second.

However, it appeared to be resonant of a classic technique used by Alfred Hitchcock in Psycho.

During the classic horror film, Marion Crane’s (Janet Leigh) death is foreshadowed by Norman Bates’ (Anthony Perkins) love of taxidermy.

He keeps a selection of stuffed birds around his household and the director films them in a similar way to tonight’s Coronation Street.

Will Nick tear apart the cute couple just as they’re at their happiness?

Elsewhere on the episode, Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) found himself in a seriously awkward situation.

The youngster was celebrating his 18th birthday but was also dealing with his growing crush on Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).

She told him she had a special surprise for him and he was thrilled at the thought he might be making progress on her.

He walked in on her in the bath, completely naked, and she was horrified.

What’s more, Gary Windass (Mikey North) confronted Seb and threatened him with action if he didn’t step away from his girlfriend.

Has Seb learned his lesson? Or will he keep pursuing Sarah?

Coronation Street continues Friday on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
