Robert Preston (played by Tristan Gemmill) has landed himself in hot water with the police after his pregnant ex-fiancée disappeared following an explosive row on Coronation Street. The two-timer certainly had motive to kill Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn) after Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) jilted him at the altar after discovering the truth about his double life. However after realising Carla Connor (Alison King) may have let slip some incriminating information about his past, will the two-timer exact his revenge against Michelle’s cousin instead?
In recent scenes on the ITV soap, Robert was left humiliated when Michelle read out his texts to Vicky during their marriage ceremony before jilting him at the altar.
Michelle has made it very clear she wants nothing to do with her ex-fiancé but surprisingly when the police questioned her about Vicky’s disappearance she kept quiet about his violent past.
Once the detective had left, Carla commented: “Michelle you should have told him he beat up Rich.”
“Yes but that was because he thought Rich was stalking me he wouldn’t do this,” Michelle hit back.
“Why was that?” the detective questioned.
“I don’t know he thought I was trying to split up him and Michelle, wrong again,” Carla remarked.
“Seems like Robert is very protective of Michelle and their relationship if he thinks someone’s trying to threaten it,” the detective commented.
“Yeah it does seems so,” Cara agreed while viewers watched Robert catch the pair in discussion.
The two-timer will correctly assume Carla was talking to the detectives and inadvertently pointing them at his direction.
He may blame Michelle for his downfall but it’s likely he still has feelings for his ex-fiance and may direct all his frustration at her cousin.
Robert believed Carla meddled in his personal life once before and he could act out against the businesswoman as the police close in on him.
Will Robert take the ultimate revenge on Carla for talking to the police and kill her before fleeing Weatherfield?
Coronation Street continues Monday on ITV at 7.30pm.
