Emmerdale viewers have seen Victoria Sugden (played by Isabel Hodgins) go through an extremely difficult time recently after she was sexually attacked following a night out in Hotton.
Subsequently, she found out she is pregnant with rapist Lee Posner’s (Kris Mochrie) child and although she has decided to keep and raise the baby, it seems viewers can expect more trouble to head her way.
According to official soap spoilers, Victoria is going to be left shaken when she bumps into Lee’s mother Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) in upcoming scenes.
But luckily for her, there is one Dingle family member who wastes no time in stepping in to defend Victoria.
Actress Isabel has now opened up about what fans of the long-running ITV soap can expect in upcoming episodes as Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) comes to her rescue.
Isabel teased: “She’s in the toilets and Victoria is coming out of the toilets and there is this woman who is looking at her, and she’s like ‘Do I know you?’
“And then she say’s ‘No, but you know my son Lee.’”
“[Victoria] is scared at first because she’s worried he [Lee] is there and fearing they’ve come together,” the actress continued.
“She [Wendy] says ‘We need to talk about all these lies you’ve been telling,’ so straight away you know she’s an enemy.
“She’s got her son’s interests at heart which is exactly the opposite stance of Victoria, so it’s going to be difficult from the off.”
As for how Charity intervenes, Isabel said: “Charity flies to Victoria’s defence, because she’s left a little bit shell shocked, it’s the last thing she’s expecting.
“Charity swoops in and has a go at her [Wendy] and saves the day, and Victoria just crumbles, and Charity is there to hold her and hug her and tell her everything going to be ok.”
Stunned by Charity’s aggressive behaviour, Wendy will leave the pub abruptly, but will this instance make Charity realise she needs to help Victoria out more than just fending off Wendy?
There is the possibility she could speak to Robert about how the pair of them ensure Victoria is safe and Lee is as far away as possible.
Could this be the start of a new revenge plan?
It comes after Lee was publicly humiliated and accused of being a rapist by Victoria’s brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and his husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) after the pair stuck posters up of him around his place of work.
After getting revenge by sending the police to knock on Victoria’s door, it seems Lee is going to try an alternative approach at getting underneath the Woolpack chef’s skin by sending his mother to do his dirty work for him.
But they are going to be given one hell of a surprise when Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) let’s Victoria’s secret slip.
Following Lee and Wendy’s discovery, thoughts will turn to possible storyline twists and whether or not Lee could get his hands on the child.
Express.co.uk spoke to a specialist family lawyer about whether or not the rapist could get custody or even apply for it and fortunately for Victoria it seems Lee would not be able to get custody.
