Hanna is released on Amazon Prime next week (Friday, March 29) with actor Esme Creed-Miles leading the cast as the title character. Creed-Miles is joined by a number of big names in the cast of Hanna, including Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos. With the Amazon Prime series being the actor’s biggest role to date, fans are keen to find out more about the Hanna star.
Who plays Hanna on Amazon Prime series?
Hanna is played by 19-year-old British actress Creed-Miles.
The Amazon Prime series is the actor’s biggest role to date, although she’s enjoyed several other on-screen parts beforehand.
Creed-Miles starred in the Sean Bean and Ruth Wilson-led drama Dark River in 2017, as well as appearing in independent films Mister Lonely and Undercliffe.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media at an exclusive screening prior to Hanna’s release, Creed-Miles revealed all about her experience on the show.
The Hanna star said: “I wasn’t like sent the scripts, it wasn’t an offered part. I just read the sides and was auditioning and had to do a ton of auditions.
“It’s just such a great opportunity for a young actress, it was just insane. I didn’t think I’d get it.”
Hanna was originally released as a movie in 2011 with Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan leading the way.
The Amazon Prime adaptation is also written by the Hanna film creator David Farr.
Creed-Miles spoke about following in Ronan’s footsteps and said: “I just don’t really think like that.
“That’s just how art works, people reinterpret stuff all the time. You could argue everything is a reinterpretation of something else.
“It didn’t cross my mind as being a problem or something to think about. I was a fan of the film but I didn’t watch it in preparation.
“Obviously Saoirse is such a great actress, I almost feel like to try and copy someone else thing is somehow doing a disservice to them rather than just seeing you.
“I also feel like everyone’s different so, if you just stay true to yourself and act on your instincts, it’s going to be different so I guess that’s kind of what I did, I just didn’t think about it too much.”
Creed-Miles may lead the way as the title character, but the cast of Hanna also boasts a number of other big names from the world of TV and film.
Hanna and Erik have to avoid the clutches of Marissa, who’s played by Golden Globe-nominee Mireille Enos.
Fans of Nordic noir series The Killing will undoubtedly recognise Enos and Kinnaman as the pair reunite on Hanna after working on the drama together.
Enos spoke about reuniting with Kinnaman on Hanna: “We spent so many hours together over so many years that we became actual great friends.
“We’re playing people in this that have a long history so it just, so much of the work was done for us because we know each other so well.
“What we could do with a glance or gesture, it takes years to be able to get to that kind of comfort level.”
Former EastEnders star Phaldut Sharma also stars in Hanna as Tom.
Other actors to keep an eye out for in the Hanna cast include Aleksandr Gorchilin as Arvo, Khalid Abdalla as Jerome Sawyer, and Rhianne Barreto as Sophie.
Hanna premieres on Amazon Prime on Friday, March 29.
