ITV This Morning Eamonn Holmes stunned as Lion King stars told to ‘ignore’ protocol | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Eamonn Holmes, 59, and This Morning co-host Ruth Langsford, 59, were joined by Lion King stars Seth Rogen, 37, and Billy Eichner, 40, ahead of the films release this Friday.

At the weekend, Seth and Billy were among stars of the motion picture who attended the European premiere of the film in London.

Also in attendance at the event were Prince Harry, 34, and his wife Meghan Markle, 37, and the ITV presenters asked whether the stars had to follow any protocol when meeting royalty.

Ruth explained when the Royals meet celebrities or members of the public, there is certain etiquette to follow including not speaking until your hands are locked with the member of royalty you’re meeting.

Seth told the hosts: “They’re the only people I’ve met that come with protocol,” before they discussed a video Billy had shot on his phone of the royal couple with other cast members.

He said: “We were trying to gauge was how much other people were following the protocol and how strict it is.”

Talking about watching the Royals interacting with their co-stars, Billy added: “We we’re watching what our friend Keegan did and he did none of the protocol.

“It fell apart,” he remarked before the presenters asked what they thought would happen if protocol was ignored.

“I assume you get put in the Tower of London,” Seth joked, before Eamonn asked what producers told the Lion King stars to do when they met the presenters.

“They said to ignore everything,” Billy quipped, with Eamonn rolling his eyes and taking his head at the remark in jest.

As the presenters and guests chuckled away, viewers at home took to social media to comment on the Lion Kings stars’ appearance on the show.

One wrote on Twitter: “@billyeichner is on this morning, life complete #thismorning.”

Another added: “The new #LionKing movie looks and sounds fab! #ThisMorning,” with a third posting: “I’m so excited about lion king #ThisMorning.”

Eamonn was rejoined by his wife Ruth yesterday as they take over from regular hosts Holly Willoughby, 38, and Phillip Schofield, 57, over the summer break.

Ruth has been absent from her husband’s side for the past few weeks on the Friday editions of the show in light of her sister’s death.

Ahead of the show yesterday, Eamonn took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself with Ruth.

Captioning the image, Eamonn wrote: “My partner is back in business.

“Please join us for This Morning on @itv from 10.30 …. for the next 7 , yes I said SEVEN, Weeks.

“Summer is here!” the host concluded.

In response to the post, one viewer replied: “It’ll be hard, but we’re all behind you both. Have a great first show back together you two.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
