Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose issue urgent food recalls – full list of affected products

Shoppers at supermarket chains Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose are being warned that some food items are being recalled. Alerts were issued by the Food Standard Agency (FSA) to check affected products, this week. Doritos, burgers and dog food are some of the products that the UK’s leading supermarkets are urgently recalling.

Doritos – product recall

The popular brand of crisps, Doritos, that is sold in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, and other big-chain supermarkets, is currently being recalled by Walkers Snack Foods because of undeclared allergens found to be contained in the product.

The FSA stated: “Walkers Snack Foods is recalling Doritos Tangy Cheese as a precautionary measure because it contains soya which is not accurately declared on the label.

“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.”

A statement on the FSA website reads: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to soya, do not eat it.”

The batch codes affected include 06 06 20 GBC 205 364, 06 06 20 GBC 205 363, 06 06 20 GBC 203 364, 06 06 20 GBC 203 363,06 06 20 GBC 202 364 and 06 06 20 GBC 202 363.

The affected packs are 180g in size and have a best before the date of June 6, 2020.

Walkers Snack Foods has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

Those who have bought the product are being urged not to eat the food to avoid risk.

Instead, they can return it to the store it was bought where they will be given a full refund for the item.
