The Masked Singer works from the premise of 12 famous faces taking to the stage to perform their rendition of a popular song, with their identities hidden behind an elaborate costume. It’s up to the judging panel to try and work out which celebrities are channeling their inner pop star from a multitude of critic clues and listening intently to the distorted voices. However, just two weeks into the competition, reports are now emerging the nine remaining names have been leaked, supposedly spoiling the end game of the ITV reality show.
Over the past two weeks, viewers have been speculating on who could behind the characters such as Queen Bee, Tree, Monster and many more.
A whole range of names have been thrown into the mix as fans have been eagerly trying to solve the case on social media.
Three famous faces have already been unmasked, with former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, 47, behind the Butterfly, ex foreign secretary Alan Johnson, 69, as Pharaoh and Chameleon revealed to be singer Justin Hawkins, 44.
However, the Daily Star reports the rest of the line-up has been leaked but have not mentioned which celebrities are still in the running to win.
Only 30 people were then allowed to see the reveal when it was filmed, with six production staff knowing the entire cast who were hiding under the masks.
“When we took on this job, we assumed we’d all know,” the host commented, adding: “We all thought we’d be told under the table, but there was none of that.
“It blew my mind,” Joel said.
There are still nine famous faces waiting to be unmasked and some believe a Girls Aloud star is among them.
After Queen Bee gave a breathtaking rendition of Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved, fans quickly took to social media and guess pop star Nicola Roberts, 34, was singing.
One of the most pivotal clues which led viewers to make the assumption was the masked celebrity stating they’d made an impact in the judicial system.
The former girl group member was a part of a law change 10 years ago to ensure under-18’s weren’t allowed to use sun beds in conjunction with Andy Burnham and Cancer Research UK.
Could it be the fantasy character is the professional singer, or could it be a celebrity with a hidden talent?
The Masked Singer continues Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
