What will happen in The Walking Dead season 9 finale?
The synopsis for The Walking Dead season nine finale reads: “In the aftermath of an overwhelming loss, the communities must brave a ferocious blizzard.
“As one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision.”
Thankfully, AMC has released a teaser trailer for the final episode of the series.
The trailer shows Ezekiel (played by Khary Payton) and Carol (Melissa McBride) entering Whisperer land to survive the storm.
At the beginning of the trailer, Ezekiel can be he heard saying: “We kept trying to hold on. It’s over. The kingdom fell.”
The trailer then cuts to scenes of snow and Michonne (Danai Gurira) can be heard saying: “This storm could make the roads impassable for weeks. It’s either we make it to the next waystation or we die.”
The next part of the trailer suggests the group are heading towards Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) territory which is likely to cause huge problems.
Alpha is not someone to come into conflict with and viewers saw her kill off numerous characters in episode 15, decapitating several of their heads in a violent killing spree.
Carol is heard saying: “We didn’t agree to those borders…those borders are hers, not ours.”
The final episode trailer also teases a huge battle in the episode between the Whisperers and the group.
Showrunner Angela Kang told Entertainment Weekly that the finale will “take a little bit of a left turn”.
“We’ve seen our people go up against enemies. We’ve seen them go to war. We know kind of the rhythms and what that looks like,” she said.
“And we wanted to explore like, ‘Okay, well the Whisperers are a completely different group than we’ve ever encountered before. What’s different about if something like this happens when it’s the Whisperers involved?’
“So we thought that we wanted to tell the beginning of that aftermath here.”
Fans will find out tonight who will survive The Walking Dead.
