As her neighbors’ homes burst into flames, a woman calls 911 from her own driveway.

Fire officials ordered the evacuation of large swaths of the beachside city of Malibu, California, on Friday as a raging fire jumped the U.S. 101 Freeway west of Los Angeles and raced toward the sea and the community famed for its surf and celebrity homes.

In Northern California, where a separate fire destroyed the town of Parade, fire officials said the Camp Fire had quadrupled overnight to to nearly 110 square miles.

Some 75,000 homes were ordered evacuated in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, with the Los Angeles County Fire Department tweeting: “imminent threat,” adding that “Malibu lakes residents must leave area immediately.”
