Jeremy has completely dismissed Meghan as “toast” and rejected claims her presence will affect the royals in any significant way.
The 60-year-old disputed Piers’ suggestions that the Duchess of Sussex has caused any damage to the monarchy.
Jeremy wrote: “Yes, she is much revered by the young and the stupid who believe that her brand of simpering victimhood will one day bring down the monarchy, but it won’t.”
The Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? personality also made a series of claims concerning previous challenges to the royal reputation.
Among those noted were affairs, abdications and the illnesses suffered by George III.
Jeremy suggested that if the monarchy can survive those crises, it will remain unaffected by anything Meghan has to say.
He claimed in his The Sun column: “I’m fairly sure it’ll be able to weather the banal musings of a silly little cable TV actress.”
Jeremy believes the news has already moved on from the explosive revelations in her interview with Oprah.
In a nod to Piers’ recent resignation from Good Morning Britain, Jeremy added: “Poor old Piers will realise that he lost his job over absolutely nothing at all.”
Piers left GMB last week, after he received a record number of complaints to Ofcom for saying he “did not believe” Meghan’s claims about her time as a senior member of the Royal Family.
The 55-year-old later clashed with his colleague Alex Beresford over the remarks, leading him to storm off set, as the latter branded him “diabolical”.
Since leaving GMB, Piers has firmly stood behind his comments on Meghan.
Speaking outside his home in London the day after quitting the ITV breakfast show, Piers told Sky News: “I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she’s done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible.”
“If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly-held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it.”
He added: “I think it’s fair to say, although the woke crowd will think that they’ve cancelled me, I think they will be rather disappointed when I re-emerge.”
