The latest gripping season of Money Heist, one of Netflix’s most popular European exports, ended with yet another catastrophic blow to The Professor (played by Álvaro Morte) and his team of criminal specialists.
With Nairobi (Alba Flores) dead and the rest of the team cornered, hope may appear to be lost when the Spanish crime thriller returns for its fifth outing on Netflix.
Moreover, The Professor has now found himself being kept at gunpoint by Police Inspector Alicia (Najwa Nimri) after discovering his covert hideout.
Now the heist has been thrown into chaos yet again, viewers are desperate to find out how The Professor and co will escape their current predicaments with their lives.
It has not been confirmed whether or not Money Heist will end with Part Five, but there has already been considerable speculation for what could be revealed in the show’s final moments.
Some fans are convinced the clue lies with Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó), as her role as the story’s narrator seems to assure her survival by the end of the series.
A recent post on Reddit proposed the idea of Tokyo taking over from The Professor to train a new generation of criminals.
Redditor Arno1903 posted: “I support the theory that Tokyo is the only survivor but I disagree that she is narrating the story from prison.”
The series jumped ahead considerably between the gang’s hits on the Royal Mint of Spain and the Bank of Spain and revealed some of the criminals had become families in their downtime.
This included the son of Stockholm (Esther Acebo), Cincinnati (Luca Anton), who is also being raised by her new partner Denver (Jaime Lorente)
If subsequent seasons take another leap into the future, Cincinnati could return as a key figure in the next generation of professional criminals.
Building on top of this theory, the original poster also speculated Alicia could be the focus of yet another huge twist for Money Heist Part Five.
