Stranger Things season one saw Will Byers (played by Noah Schnapp) fight for his life as he became trapped in the terrifying upside down. However, with so many characters meeting a difficult ending in the alternate universe, fans are wondering just how he survived.

One Reddit user thinks they know how, speculating that Will has a far deeper connection to The Upside Down than first thought.

Did Will Byers survive the Upside Down because he created it?

Reddit user bloodylollipops theorised: “There’s the common theory that our universe has infinite dimensions and alternate universes,”

“But in the show so far, we only know that there is one other dimension, and it’s only of Hawkins.

“At the end of season 3, the boys give her the d&d set for her to play with.

“And in season 1, Will gets attacked by the demogorgon in the game, and also moments after in real life. Meaning the show is based off the game.

“So if Erica continues to play then whatever happens to her in the game, is ought to happen in real life.”
